The humidity is present, especially early in the morning. I am having problems with the camera, probably due to the extreme bright light and the humidity and the lack of my knowledge of the menu and all the options that I might have to change and use under the given circumstances. The drive, still or because of this, turned into a panoramic and mystic drive. The fog or the humidity was everywhere and due to the early hour, I was driving along the green palm treed roads all by myself.

The drive into Belem was very difficult, I think next to the drive into Sao Paulo, the worst I have experienced in eight years Brazil. The traffic came to a standstill and driving forward was slower than the passing pedestrians. I followed the signs and thought I will go to the center first to orientate myself. When the sign ‘The ports’ showed up I changed my mind and gave plan B priority, which was to resolve the next passage from Belem to Macapá.

I came to the end of the road and turned right, followed the road for about two kilometers along, what appeared to me to be the commercial area of the port. At one of the entrances I decided to turn in and ask for the right place to take the ferry to Macapá. I had to believe my luck when he said that this was the port for the ferry to Macapá. I wanted to compare and look at other options next door but they indicated me back. They offered to guide me to the center to the head office and I accepted. The company was exactly the company I heard search for on the internet. Luck. Thanks to everybody who took part in this.

I had very little time left before I was supposed to bring back the car at 16:00 to already board for the departure tomorrow at 12:00. I used the time to visit the historical center and locate a Wifi spot to work before I would be cut off for more than 48 hours.

I was back on time for the staff to board the car, which was a work of millimeters due to the size of the boat. The car was cargo and I do not believe that the type of boat I was using was designed for loading cars, it just happened that cars fitted in, certain cars, smaller cars. At the same time and for a change, I had a place to stay and sleep.

For a small understanding of the days travel, I have included a Google Earth map. The red pins mark the locations I have stopped and taken pictures. At the bottom of the page you will find a link for all the pictures I have taken. The link will open in a Google+ Album.
