2015-08-05 Natal – Sao Miguel do Gostoso

Due to having scheduled a meeting the day before, I had to get up very early in the morning. I mean, you know me, getting up early. Shit happens. Shit happens once a year. I packed up the car. I blew out the candle in front of the Buddha statue, which was mysteriously burning for the last three days.

I drove to the Iate Clube to finalize the security of my boat, the payments of workers and to organize the sale. My head was still busy, it was time to drive off, but my head was still connected to final details before I could leave. Done. I drove off.

Immediately my head became empty, my senses calm, and my eyes sharp. I want to absorb with my eyes every detail that I would pass by, whatever it may be. I want to take pictures of everything my eyes tell my mind to capture. I want to stop and feel the moment, live the moment, stay as long as the moment gives me peace of mind.

It would take some time to really meet new territory. I have been in the state of Rio Grande do Norte for years. The reason I came here eight years ago was a job offer to commercialize a resort development in Jacuma. I had to pass by with respect and say “Good Bye”.

So long Jacuma Beach Resort, though everything that could go wrong went wrong, economically a disaster, wrong time. You live on now as “Bosque da Enseada” and will be in good hands with the local company Ecomax.

Caraubas beach

I wanted to stay as close to the ocean as possible. The ocean and its coastline, with the breeze and the howling of the wind, the rolling and the sound of the waves, the fisher villages and its simple inhabitants, the sand and the dunes. Calm, maybe even a romantic place for a good night sleep.

I drove by the villages I knew pretty well, Pitangui, Jacuma, Maxaranguape, Caraubas, Pittitinga, Rio do Fogo, Touros, Cajuero and finally Sao Miguel do Gostoso.

For a small understanding of the days travel, I have included a Google Earth map. The red pins mark the locations I have stopped and taken pictures. At the bottom of the page you will find a link for all the pictures I have taken. The link will open in a Google+ Album.2015-08-05 Natal - Sao Miguel do Gostoso
