I hate uncertainty and had lived and slept with it now for the last 2 days. Sorry, but I woke up and had the monthly payments for January immediately in my head. I went to the bathroom, washed myself and washed my shirt and took the bus to the historical center. I had to get off just before the bridge that was crossing the water channel to the historical center and walked passed the Parque Espiritu del Manglar. I had plenty of time and decided to have a look. The park offered sport facilities, a walking path, a lookout tower, a playground and numerous bronze statues of famous people from Cartagena de Indias, artists, politicians, sportsman and military staff.

Something was moving on the floor right in front of me, right on the path, very slowly, but it was moving. A sloth was just leaving the path and moving towards the grass, very slowly, but it was moving. I continued my way a bit faster than the sloth and climbed up the lookout point to enjoy the view and get a geographic understanding of the historical center.

I went to my favorite juice stand and had a fresh, cold and sweet orange juice before I walked along the streets, the market and the numerous commercial malls to search for the battery. I thought the chances are low or zero but I had the time and went to the commercial mall ‘Number One’ just opposite the street of the cyber. I asked the security and he pointed to the second floor. Most of the shops were tiny, so was the camera shop and so was the display. He did not have the battery and referred to another shop in the commercial mall ‘Gethsemane’.

It was just a coincidence that on my way I had to cross the Millennium Park which I had seen already before and wanted to visit at a later time but the time to visit was now and the time for another orange juice as well was now. There are probably hundreds of juice stands in and around the historical center and each had its own fruit, its own flavor. One stand had orange juice, another lemon juice, another tangerine juice and another had a mixture between the fruits and so on. Furthermore the taste could have been different as well due to the amount of sugar, none of the juices was alike and you had to try them all to find your favorite flavor.

I found the commercial mall ‘Gethsemane’ and the camera shop, the owner looked behind the counter and on his display, picked a box, opened it and held a battery in his hand which looked exactly like mine. I was excited, opened the shaft of my camera and put the new battery in. The battery fitted but the camera did not turn on. We recharged the new battery for about ten minutes and tried again but unfortunately with the same result. I was close, so close; I actually felt, that is the one but I had to give up my search for today. I was thirsty, went back to my juice stand and had an orange juice; I was hungry and walked around the corner and had a snack from the bakery. I wanted a rest and my shirt wanted sunshine, the stone bench was just fine.

It was time to go to Frank and check my bank account and to my surprise the balance had changed. The office manager had deposited money, had not replied to my mails but had deposited money. I was a little relieved but still would have to wait until Monday to confirm other payments and transfers. The weight had dropped from 100 kilogram to 75 kilogram; it was less but still heavy, heavy on my mind. I would have to wait until Monday. I kept walking through the center but I was not there.

I took the bus to the airport and wanted to work on the computer but the cable was not there. I rushed back to the center, back to Frank and the cable was still there; I had forgotten it. I took the bus back to the airport again and was tired; I still had the monthly payments for January in my head. I would have to wait until Monday.
