I changed location three times, first due to mosquitos, second due to music noise and third after midnight due to heat. I ended up opposite the latest construction site of Cyrela. I got up and enjoyed the silence, silence of a big city on a Sunday morning. I am sure poetically and philosophically there are different types of silence. It sounds strange, but I think there are, similar to the different types of snow. In certain parts of the world they hardly know the word snow, consequently snow stands for only one thing, which is snow. Talking to an escimo though, you will have to create a new dictionary just for all the different types of snow.

Sunday morning was the best day and time for a visit in São Luis, probably for all major cities in the world and best to those who do not want to face noisy traffic jams, que up visitor lines and want to have an open view onto the attractions of the city, historical, architectural or art and nature. It was fine for me that I was by myself and had this opportunity to sneak in to the city and get out again.

The afternoon was working and before sunset a short beach walk. At some point and after some heavy driving days, I became to realize the distances that I had planned to cover. I am even thinking of changing and extending the route and include Central America up to Mexico. It looks like a rather short drive from the border of Panama / Colombia to make it up to Yucatan and back again and visit the region of the mysterious Maya. They had entered my life through various sources and I became fascinated with them. Actually they have been the reason for my project Madre de Dios, which I am thinking as well to include in my site.

The day, as every day ended with a sunset, only this time I had the chance to take some pictures again, which I could not for two days in Jericoacoara. Nature and reality are not programmable, so in a place where it was so normal and actually one of the highlights I could not take a single picture and now back in a city where I least expected it I had the chance again.
