President Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, at 12:30 pm Central Standard Time on Friday, November 22, 1963. Kennedy was taken to Parkland Hospital for emergency medical treatment, where he was pronounced dead 30 minutes later.
President Johnson quickly issued an executive order to create the Warren Commission to investigate the assassination. The commission concluded that Oswald acted alone in killing Kennedy and that Oswald was not part of any conspiracy. The results of this investigation are disputed by many.
