I had gone to sleep yesterday with the monthly payments for January in my head and I woke up this morning with the monthly payments for January in my head. I was thinking of giving up the project Rio 2016, flying back to Natal and sort out the transfers and payments myself. If I could not trust my ex business partner to do the monthly transfer and the office to do the monthly payments I am in trouble every month and will have that in my head all the time. I did not really want to believe that this was necessary but it had become an option and may become reality. I was thinking about the time after the project Rio 2016. For a very long time I was pretty sure to move to French Polynesia but now I was pretty sure that I want to go back to Natal and be close to my baby Matilda. She is only 4 years now but by the end of theproject Rio 2016, after the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, she will be 5 years and be only 1 year before entering school. I was pretty sure that I want to go back to Natal and be close to my baby Matilda.

Today I wanted to go back to the historical center. I took the bus to the center, had a fresh orange juice and visited quickly the bronze statue of Miguel de Cervantes. Many times in my life I had felt like Don Quixote fighting the windmills. It was about time for me to actually read this book and not only this book; so many other books of world literature.

Like everybody I was hoping for long life and I had pushed reading world literature towards the end of my presence on this planet; just a thought that I wanted to share with you Miguel de Cervantes. I turned my back on Miguel, walked through the main entrance gate and was back in the historical center.

I had an overview already yesterday walking along the outer stone wall; today I took out my glasses to have a close look at all the places, all the corners, the facades, the wooden entrance doors and the wooden balconies beautifully overgrown with all kind of flowers, the boutique hotels, the international restaurants, the bohemian bars and pubs, the churches and all the different art shops. Around the corner the elder woman in the colored dress and the fruit bowl on her head smiled at me, posed for me and asked money from me; yes, she fooled me.

Cartagena de Indias is a privileged city, overrun with international tourism and international money, worth a day, a weekend, a fortnight or a lifetime visit. Ten years ago, when I made first plans to move to South America, Havana, Costa Rica and Cartagena de Indias had been my choices to live. Business had brought me to Natal, my home and the home of my baby Matilda.

It was lunch time; I had a pizza sandwich and a ham and cheese sandwich from the bakery. Whenever I was thirsty I went back to my favorite juice stand and had a fresh orange juice. The battery of the camera was empty again and I went to Frank’s cyber to recharge and connect to the internet and to Skype. I had only three minutes time, enough to say what I wanted to say,

Happy birthday Big Dominik!!!

Again, I could not get the monthly payments for January out of my head, did not get feedback from my ex business partner or the office and could not really enjoy the amazing historical center of Cartagena de Indias; I walked along the beach back to the airport, back to my home and tried to clear my mind; I tried again and again, I tried hard and was hoping the day would pass. I was back at the airport, back at my corner and was hoping to find sleep.

Happy birthday Big Dominik!!!
